Running With Perspective
Jan 3, 2025
It is practically impossible to move from A to B without encountering an advertisement. There are billboards alongside the roads, flat screens in public transport or malls, and let's not forget information brought to us by newspapers and magazines, TV and radio, or social media posts. Each and every single item is full of suggestions, ultimately telling us that, yes, there is room for us to improve ourselves.
New Year, New You?
We start the beginning of the New Year with challenges and resolutions about how many books we intend to read, to have a tidier home, a better-organized schedule, if we need to lose weight or adopt a healthier lifestyle. Some of these suggestions we face all year round, like those with a desk job who are prodded to do some supposedly essential exercises.
It may sound harmless or a way to encourage us to look beyond our usual horizon, but all of this together inexplicably puts us under pressure. It can be difficult to be aware of receiving this many recommendations, let alone realize we may want to distance ourselves from all that background noise that somehow worms its way into our heads. Because, indeed, we might be that person with a desk job who should be doing more to change for the better?
Vitally You, No Pressure
On second thought, can we ask ourselves if today was enough? Would it be possible to be content with our work, our body or weight, and the workout we did on this particular day?
There is more to life than expectations and pressure. As your friends at Vortza, we don't believe in what we should be doing; rather, we perceive the world from the perspective of what we could be doing.
A healthy lifestyle or wholesome living can also mean that you enjoy your run for being happy with your body. There is absolutely no need for punishment just because you possibly overindulged during the holidays or because you haven't made the progress you were aiming for yet. Sometimes, a run is just what you need, regardless of the importance or effect when it comes to improving yourself. This resonates with our slogan to free your mind. Life doesn't have to be hard when you focus on fulfillment, recharging, and enjoyment.
Let your workout be about listening to the rhythm of the pounding of your feet, feeling the air on your skin, and experiencing freedom of movement. Let the New Year be about peace (the world can do with quite a bit of that) and pleasure.
